JDS tests positive for illegal substance and forced to leave FFEI. New Heavyweight Tournament?
Earlier today, the FFEI president met up with Junior Dos Santos and discussed his future at FFEI. JDS was tested positive for diuretic Hydrochlorothiazide 3 years ago and has recently been tested positive again for the same substance. This is an illegal substance and the FFEI president had to say no to him returning to the octagon.
It seemed JDS does not particularly want to participate in the FFEI again anyway. He has said he prefers fighting in the UFC and will stay there until the end of his career unless FFEI step up their game. We appreciate JDS for his decision and wish him all the best in his future fights at the UFC.
JDS was the heavyweight title holder but now he is absent, a heavyweight tournament will be put in place to win the vacated heavyweight championship. This is how the tournament will look. The Quarter-Finals will take place at 7pm (03/03/2020), The Semi-Finals will take place the day after at 6pm (04/03/2020) and the Final will be on the same day at 8:30pm (04/03/2020)
